ABC's Once Upon a Time Halloween Dinner

This posts gets so many page views by Once Upon A Time Fans that I'm going to repost it for those looking for ideas this year.

Ok, this year we have decided to geek out and have a "Once Upon a Time" themed Halloween for the family. We absolutely adore this hit show and if you are not watching it, seriously, watch it!

Once Upon Time Halloween

(Just in case you're wondering, we've been so busy with so many things and for that reason and a million others I haven't been blogging. So, I know it's looking pretty neglected around here.)

I haven't come up with a concrete menu yet, but I have a few ideas off the top of my head. If you are a Once Upon a Time nut like me, you can borrow them if you like! (This would be a great time to make up some DIY menu cards.)

Menu:
Huntsman's Heart-ey Stew (If your a fan you'll get this)
Sangria as blood red as the Queen of Hearts herself
Sourdough bread bowls satisfying for even the hungriest of dwarves.
Poisoned apple turnover  (just like Regina Likes 'em)
Rumplestilt-skin-less (or with skin if you like)  potato medley with pastured butter and scallions
Red's "wild" foraged salad w/organic celery salt and raw olive oil
(Ok, it may not be wild foraged but we foraged for it at the local farmer's market. We aren't that adventurous people!)

Dessert Bar:
Maybe an extra large Hansel and Gretel gingerbread house

Snow or Mary Margaret. Her style can be rustic, princess, or  Anthro.

Here is the table I imagine. Of course any table will do:

Restoration Hardware Trestle Table. Made from reclaimed wood. I love this table!

These are all Anthropologie. They are some of my favorite picks and what I imagine "Snow" might use if she set the table. I would maybe pair some of these plates over wooden chargers. I've been waiting for my husband to come home with a chunk of tree so I could slice up my own. But it looks like you may be able to
buy some on Etsy from Adhocstock

Z Gallerie Quadra Dinnerware on left. 13 inch birch "chargers" top right. And again Anthro for the plates bottom right.

Think birch and bark when setting a Storybrooke table.  Twig flatware is from West ElmCork Knife Set from Anthro.
OUAT in Wonderland
Tray with 4 legs from Anthro is a lot of fun and whimsical.  It's so very Alice in Wonderland.

Of course, if you favor the Evil Queen's style (Regina),  you may want to go with the Labyrinth table setting from Z Gallerie, which I adore as well.
Once Upon Time Halloween
You can call her Regina or The Evil Queen. Whatever you prefer.

Once Upon Time Halloween
ZGallerie's Labyrinth Collection works well with an Evil Queen Place setting. You can work the Quadra Dinnerware with either motif.  Also, the trestle table can go either way. Regina happens to have a trestle table for her home office.

After dinner we retire to the living room for poison candied apples and watch our favorite show! Followed by other Disney Fav's, Ichabod & Mr. Toad, Black Cauldron, and Nightmare Before Christmas.

Since I have a house full of males, we won't be dressing up like Storybrooke characters (Storybrooke, Maine is the setting for at least half of the show.)  I'd love to know if any fans of the show will be doing so!

Since switching comment platforms, I lost all of the comments you guys made on all of my  articles. So, sorry if you asked something and I couldn't get back to you!

    1. Thanks, Karina! That's so sweet. I'd like to have a gorgeous home too, one day. It takes time to collect things we love. No rush, for either of us.

  2. These ideas are amazing! This is one of my favorite shows. I think I am a season behind though. We watch on netflix and they usually put the previous season up around the time the new season comes out. I need to get some of that twig flatware!
