Dining Room Progress

Excuse the lack of updates, I've felt as though I've been run over by a mack truck this last month.  Last we spoke of the dining room makeover,  I had showed some items I was purchasing or had purchased for the dining room. The green jute edged pillows were a big element in my design and unfortunately they had to go bu-bye. They were a little too, well, unsightly green in person and entirely too big for the chairs that I bought them for.

Green, however, is still a big element in the house's overall design. I'm very excited for how I'm going to try and bring it into the dining room. Figuring out how to implement it on a budget will decide if we go that route. Want a hint? Watercolor....that's all I'll say for now.

Progress but not finished:
That door is an eyesore! I can't wait to update it as well!

The chairs are from Restoration Hardware. I believe the difference in their design for this popular chair is that it's unfinished raw wood. The rug is sea grass from Home Depot. It was so much cheaper than the Pottery Barn I was considering.

The coral chandie is from Ballard Designs. I chose globe lights so that it didn't look too traditional in here.

Let's not forget where we started from.......

Now, I just need to incorporate paint, moldings, a new door, a host and hostess chair, some art, and let's not forget finish the sun room!

  1. Those chairs are amazing! That is another touch I love...just bits and pieces of rustic.

That chandelier is what I am looking for to go over my table

    1. The chandelier was on sale at Ballards at 100 dollars off when I purchased it. It just recently went back to regular price. :(

I'd love to see it if you get it! BTW, I think Restoration Hardware has the best deal on those chairs if they are still on sale.

  2. Yay! I'm so excited about seeing your progress. So far, it looks very organic and fresh. The table is very chic, too. Keep up the great work, and I hope you'll feel well soon. :(

    XOXO,

    1. Thank you, Meredith! The look of everything should be completely different of what it is now, if all goes right. I am hoping to bring a wall treatment to the space that will completely transform the space and bring a cohesive design between the sunroom, dr, and kitchen. I'm very excited to finish this room! I can't wait myself!

    1. Thanks, Brooke! It's coming along. I really can't wait to show everyone what I have planned for the end result of that space, providing things work out how I've planned them!

    1. Hi, Jen. The folding doors will be sanded and repainted white. The reason for that is that I'm using some wallpaper as art in the dining room and the door color and art will really play off of each other. As for the really ugly door in the dining room, it will be replaced with a decorative solid wood door or a decorative solid wood door and lacquered green paint over it.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    2. I agree, though, black would have been a fab color for the doors. I will be painting a couple of the doors in the sunroom black, though.

      Thanks for the suggestion!
