Dining Room Update: Oversized PB Bolton Lantern

OK, so we haven't worked a lot in the sun room or dining room lately. We've been putting our time towards things that need our attention outside. We did get to put a new light up, though. Yes, yes, yes, I did buy a new light a few months ago, but that was when we were going to either paint the dining room green or wallpaper it with abstract green watercolor paper.

The watercolor was too expensive and "Ricky" wasn't too keen on the diy I was thinking of with marble paper. Also, since I'm going to repaint the walls white now, the chandie just camouflages into the walls. So, I decided to take the coral chandelier and put it in another room, perhaps the main living room (it needs it anyways as there is no light in there).  My next choice and actually first choice was a white dining room with the Bolton lantern I purchased.

So, this is not done but it's making progress. Let's not forget where we started:

BEFORE- this is almost Nightmare On Elm Street, creepy

IN PROGRESS--yep there are still unpacked boxes in the other room, we are procrastinators like that

This is not an "after" photo. This is a "we are in the middle of cleaning and making updates" photo.
Also, that Bolton lantern is huge in person. I'm not sure why the scale doesn't really translate on the photo.

As you can see one of the chairs are missing. "Little Ricky" decided to pretend he was Batman or something and jump on the chair despite our many warnings and the seat broke.  So, if you have a naughty super hero living in your house, do not buy Restoration Hardware chairs with caned seats or anything with caned seats for that matter.  I'm pretty sure you can buy the same exact chairs but with solid seats from Williams Sonoma. Had I known the seats were not solid, I think I would have gone with Williams Sonoma.  Don't ask how I missed the whole seating area when I ordered these.

Still need:
Host & Hostess chairs
Chair cushions
Art
Turn part of shelving into wine rack
Paint
Possibly molding
Repaint the table
A new door
Repaint french doors
Finish fixing the chair little Ricky broke

  1. Ahhh it is gorgeous! I love the whole look that this room has- the table, chairs, AND the beautiful new lantern! That's too bad about the chair seat. Hope you're able to get it fixed. Gotta love little boys lol. I can completely relate. Even with three chairs your dining room is beautiful!

    1. Hi, and thanks Vel! I did run into some malachite paper recently though I can't remember where. Maybe it was Lowes? Thanks for the source, though! I decided to go another route which is why I bought the new lighting.
